Jesus' transfiguration is an example of a mountaintop experience (literally) for Jesus and the inner circle of three disciples he takes with him. But after the mountaintop - there is always the descent back down to the plains. If we have a mountaintop experience with God, how well do we cope with the return to 'ordinary' life?
