Podcast Sixty-nine Christ the King
This is the last Sunday of the Anglican church year as defined by the Lectionary. Next Sunday, Advent Sunday is the first Sunday of the new church year. On this last Sunday of the year we reflect on Christ the King. What sort of king was Jesus? What sort of kingdom was he Lord of? His encounter with Pilate, the Roman governor, brings into sharp contrast the difference between Jesus' kingdom and the secular kingdom of the Roman empire. The Youtube clip takes you to the old city of Jerusalem and the probable site of Pilate's palace, where this conversation took place.
